Pop of Ages will be performing at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel at the National Exhibition Centre on Friday 18th November 2011 featuring our top of the range 6 piece band with world class brass section

On saxophone will be our regular player Mat Sibley. He has recorded and toured with artists including ‘Scissor Sisters’ (including ‘Live at O2 Arena’ dvd and cd), 3 albums with ‘The Super Furry Animals’, ‘Gomez’, ‘Tony Christie’, ‘Joe Longthorne’ and ‘Peter Grant’ and has appeared on ‘Later with Jools Holland’, ‘ITV at the Festivals’ and numerous tv/radio performances worldwide.

Theatre work includes national tours of ‘The Songs from Sister Act’, ‘The Motown Show’, ‘Hold On’ and ‘Blues Brother, Soul Sister’.

As a jazz player he has played with various groups at festivals throughout Europe, along with premier UK venues ‘Ronnie Scott’s', ’606 Club’, ‘Pizza Express Jazz Club’ and ‘Jazz Cafe’.

Annie Lennox & Eurythmics Tribute

Kirstie & Dave Smith the founder members of the Pop of Ages party band have just announced they will be launching an new exciting project for 2012 – ‘The Annie Lennox Experience’ as either a solo or duo act. They aim to be the UKs leading Annie Lennox Tribute act. This week they have been busy at Gatehouse Studios in Swindon adding the finishing touches to their demo CD – producer Andy Rowland said “Kirstie has one of finest voices I’ve ever heard and her ability to copy Annie Lennox’s voice is uncanny, I’m was truly blown away, its been like working with and recording the real thing!”

The website will be offically launched on the 18th November 2011.

Pop of Ages has a new Blog

This is just a quick post to say that Pop of Ages, a wedding and party band based in Swindon (who also cover all surrounding counties including Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey etc) has a new blog, if you are reading this, you have already found it.

There will soon be regular updates here about recent gigs, future event’s and the new website for a brand new tribute act, however there will be more about that soon. Watch this space for updates and news.
